Just earlier this week Samsung was caught lying about the benchmarks on some models of their popular Galaxy S4 handset, and now the company is in even more hot water as evidence has risen that Samsung was recently trying to offer money to developers to mention the company on Stack Overflow, a popular community for developers.

The big whigs at Samsung claim that Samsung’s PR department did this on their own accord, and that the company on the whole was wholly unaware of the shady business, which they call “clearly against Samsung Electronics corporate policy”. Samsung claims that they have made sure that the deal has been discontinued in an attempt to “remain committed to engaging in transparent and honest communications with consumers.”

Samsung uses a PR firm called Fllu for their PR needs, which has also made a comment on the situation. Fllu says that their actions were “misguided, unethical, and wrong” and that the firm was working on a new promotion with Samsung that more appropriately fits in with Samsung’s ethics policy. Word of advise to Fllu? Bribery is never right.
